Magpie and Cocktails- A Birthday Look

I celebrated my birthday on Friday and I went out with friends for a low key but super fun evening! A few drinks, lots of laugh and cake is perfect Friday evening.

I’ve been having Sugarpill’s Magie loose pigment for some time now and I haven’t been able to wear it and I’ve been itching to. I love the color but it’s certainly not an everyday color and I haven’t been going out all that much lately. So I thought this would be a perfect time to break it out. I love dark, smokey looks so I used a black base under the pigment to make the eyes a bit more smoldering.

3 Ways to Wear Sugarpill Asteria Chromalust Loose Eyeshadow

Sugarpill Asteria Chromalust Loose Eyeshadow

Sugarpill Asteria Chromalust Loose Eyeshadow

I did a review of this lovely lose eyeshadow here.

Here are three ways I wore Sugarpill’s Limited Loose eyeshadow, Asteria. Hope you get some ideas! More importantly, I hope you were able to grab one! If not, it’s not the end of the world. I’ve missed out on my fair share of limited shades and there are always some kind of dupe for them 🙂

Look 1:
I did this as a fun, playing around sort of look. This was my first time using Asteria and I just wanted to play around with it and see what I could come up with. I liked the end result.  I used Asteria Dry here.

Face:
Nars Tinted Moisturizer

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Sugarpill Asteria Chromalust on lid
Sugarpill Love+ on outer edge and in crease
Sugarpill Flamepoint lightly on top of Love+
Sugarpill Poison Plum above the crease
Makeup Forever Metal Powder 1 as a liquid liner on upper lash line

Lips:
Makeup Forever 8c(red) around the lip line
OCC Lip Tar Beta(orange) filled in

Look 2: I did this look as a subtle eye look. I was going for a more natural look with just a pop of color. I liked this to amp up an everyday look a bit. I used Asteria dry here.

Nars Tinted Moisturizer

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Sugarpill Asteria on the lid

Look 3:
I really loved how this one came out and is my favorite of the 3. I wanted something a bit more dramatic but as you can see it’s still pretty subtle. I could amp it up with more color on my lips but I loved it as is. I used Asteria WET and you can totally see the difference in the pigmentation. I think I am only going to use Asteria wet from here on out. What do you think?

Face:
Nars Tinted Moisturizer
Makeup Forever HD Invisible Cover concealer

Cheeks:
La Femme Terracotta Blush
Mac Stereo Rose MSF to highlight

Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Sugarpill Asteria (used wet)
Mac Tempting Eyeshadow on outer edge and in the crease
Mac Bronze to deepen the crease
Urban Decay Zero lightly on upper lash line
Mac Raven Kohl Power Eye Pencil(Black with a red undertone) on lower lash line

Lips:
Nars Falbala Lipstick

Sugarpill Asteria Loose Eyeshadow

At the PhamExpo Sugarpill launched their new but VERY limited, loose eyeshadow Asteria. They said there were only 1000 made. So they had half at the expo to sell. So of course I had to get it! I thought for a minute if I wanted it because I figured I had a shade similar to this . Nope! So glad I grabbed this. I don’t think this has come out yet online. It was supposed to come out late July but I haven’t heard anything else.  When it comes out, I would definitely recommend grabbing one if you can!

Swatch Left- Dry; Right- Wet

It’s described as a ‘metallic golden coral’. On me it just looks metallic copper with gold flecks. It’s such a gorgeous shade. It will look different on different people and what you use to complement the shade. It’s gorgeous on its own!  It’s pretty subtle when used dry but like with most loose eyeshadow, when used wet it’s brighter and lovely.  This loose shadow applies beautifully and feels so smooth. This is the first time I have tried Sugarpill’s loose shadow and I am now a fan. The formula is so smooth and fine. It’s not chunky or coarse.

Here is a look I did using Asteria on the lid.

What do you think of Asteria?! Are you gonna get one?!

Look of the Day- The Heartbreaker

image

So I finally used my Sugar Pill Heartbreaker eye shadow palette and I am in love! The eye shadows are so smooth and they give great color. I am really loving the color Mochi from the palette. I thought it would be too pale or cool for my skin tone but its gorgeous. It’s super smooth and super pigmented, especially with the proper primer and base. I look forward to creating more looks with these colors.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

So I finally got my hands on some SugarPill Cosmetics! I am so happy and excited to try these out!I just wanted to share my palettes, as old as they are they’re new to me 🙂 If you’ve been reading my posts by now, you already know how I hate buying cosmetics online. So My girl got these two palettes for me at IMATS last weekend! Sugar Pill is known for their bright, bold colors. Their colors and their palettes are gorgeous! They are definitely not for the faint of hearts. When you wear these, you are begging for attention. Now that I have tried their eyeshadows I can’t wait to dive into their loose eyeshadows! It’s like crack and I’m itching!
