Hi, Beauties, hope you are enjoying your weekends! This is a fun party look I created. My beautiful model is wearing very neutral colors on her lids and I wanted to add a bit of brightness to her eyes so I did a bright blue liquid liner on her upper lash lines and a darker blue on her lower lashes add some contrast. She doesn’t wear bold, bright colors on her eyes often so I wanted to give her some color that wasn’t too overpowering and in your face. The blue seemed to brighten up her eyes and the lashes were the finishing touches to add glam and open her eyes. I really enjoyed doing this look. Hope you like it! Happy Labor Day weekend lovelies!!!
What’s your favorite neutral eye look?

Almost a month ago, I worked my first official music video shoot for the very talented, Soulful group B.O.S.S and it was an excellent opportunity to see what happens on set, to learn the process of keeping everyone looking sharp and beautiful throughout the day and to work with beautiful, amazing talents including Tammie Lee of TamiVision who is a brilliant makeup artist. She was the head makeup artist for the shoot and I learned a lot from her in the hours spent together. I helped and worked some magic on the backup singer. As soon as I saw her, I instantly thought Foxy Brown with her perfect afro and flawless skin. I love natural hair on ladies, I really wish I could rock it! I guess I’m just too lazy, because I really don’t have the patience. You would think natural hair would be easier to deal with! But I digress. I had so much fun working with the group and watching them perform. They really are very talented. Check out the work of B.O.S.S and Tammie Lee.
This weekend I did makeup for this wonderful photographer who wanted a Hollywood glamour look; red lips, defined brows and big lashes. With her blonde hair, the model reminded me of Christina Aguilera. I had so much fun doing this look! I haven’t gotten the final prints yet but he got some good shots of the process. I love working with this photographer and I love doing makeup! A very productive day! I’ll post the final prints on my Makeup by Lady D page at the top as soon as I get them!
My cousin’s prom was on Friday and of course I was honored to do her makeup for her big night. I did a couple practice runs and didn’t use any of them! It just goes to show that no matter how much you think and plan ahead, things don’t always go as planned; most the time it goes better. Perfect example of just going with the flow.
Anyhow here’s my beautiful cousin, all grown up.
I was going through my pictures on my phone and in my Facebook and I came across some old pictures that I wanted to share. I have gone to 2 different 80’s themed parties so far and I’ve done makeup for both on people. When you think of 80’s makeup you think pink, yellow, red, blue, purple; bright and bold colors that really isn’t for everyday use or work friendly but they are fun and party friendly! I had so much fun doing these and I think they came out great considering this was a time when I really didn’t know much about makeup, I had no formal knowledge of makeup application and I was doing makeup just for fun because I had so much stuff to use up. For the most part I really was self-taught in doing makeup. You don’t NEED a certificate to work or anything but it does help to learn different techniques and what you don’t really fully understand. Anyhow, here are pictures!
Bright and bold colors and BEADS!Totally 80's!
Red and Purples!
Lots of Pink!
Below is more recent; Last year! I’m sad I didn’t get close up pictures of each lady but as I said this was just for fun! Lots of bright colors! I guess I was going for goth because that’s what I look like! LOL
I did everyone except the lovely lady in the white! Still loving the bows!
Here my objective was to keep the eyes simple and the focus on the lips. I love this look for going out on a date or even for a formal party. It’s a simple look, not too much going on, just a bit of shimmer on the eyes and a slight contour in the crease with black cream liner and lots of mascara. Because her eyes are on the smaller side I didn’t line around the eyes because that would make them look even smaller. It kind of reminds me of classic look with the full eye brows and the red lips.
On the eyes I used: Mac Paint Pot in Morning Frost (LE- A shimmering taupe color) and Mac Espresso to contour the crease Mac Femme Fi to highlight the brow, MUFE Aqua Cream Liner to line the upper lid, Espresso to the outer Lower lash line and Femme Fi on top of Morning Frost in the inner corners. Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara.
Lips: Mac Brick Lip liner and Mac Heartless lipstick (LE)
