I love these liquid lipsticks. They are cheap but work well and they last about 4 – 5 hours before it starts to completely rub away. They are not a gloss, they are completely matte so the lips might feel a bit dry but my lips aren’t cracking. Just exfoliate the lips and they will look amazing. Of course if you want it to be more moisturizing or want it to look glossy, you can always add some clear gloss on top and/or apply lip balm before the lipstick. At 6 bucks a pop, these are a steal and they have a nice variety of shades to suit everyone.
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Shame is a really vamp, dark red, wine color. I love colors like this, especially in the fall and winter. It’s such a gorgeous, bad ass shade for the lips and works really well for all skin tones I think. The texture is nice and really moisturizing due to the jojoba ad avocado oils in the product. It’s really smooth and I really like the metallic bullet packaging. It looks super high end..well I guess Urban Decay is a high end brand so Nevermind.
However I do have a few issues with this shade. I have noticed that this does tend to bleed a bit on me. I need to use a lip liner to help with the bleeding issue. Also this shade didn’t really apply as evenly as I’d like. When i apply it from the tube, it’s a little bit streaky. Maybe because its super creamy? I don’t like my lipsticks to be streaky. I feel I have to apply with a lip brush to get the even finish that I like, which is a pain if you’re on the go. Is it that big of an issue? Not really, but I’m REALLY picky especially when I am spending my money on a product. Some might not see this as that big a deal.
Bottom line, I really love the color and I love the formula because its really moisturizing on the lips and I wear it often however this particular shade didn’t really apply as well as I would’ve liked it to. Definitely not as even as their shade Venom which I reviewed here.
I give this a B+ as my final grade. Not bad but my pickiness took over here.
I bought 2 of Urban Decay’s new Revolution Lipsticks to try out. I love a good lipstick and love to try new lipsticks and new formulas. So this one was a no brainer.
I got the shade Venom because, first I was attracted to the name, but also the color looked Interesting and a pretty, dark shade great for fall and winter.
The formula is really smooth and this shade in particular gives really great pigmentation. Venom is a strong, vampy berry shade, something I love in a lipstick. The texture is very creamy, a bit glossy even. It feels really good on the lips. This texture feels like a Mac amplified to me and I LOVE the amplified formula. It gives a really nice gloss to the lips and it’s not drying. My lips felt really smooth and soft during wear. There are a nice blend of oils in this lipstick including jojoba oil, avocado oil and shea butter. I also really like the packaging. The tube looks so elegant and shiny in it’s metallic bullet. I am really liking these lipsticks and I can see myself getting more shades in the future. There are so many to choose from!
Have you tried any of the new Urban Decay Lipsticks?
I am a huge fan of red lips and I love wearing red lipstick. Red lips look so classic and elegant especially for a night out. When I usually wear red lips I either go neutral on the eyes or if I’m feeling really bold or want to have that smoldering look, I wear a smokey eye. I went neutral here. I wore this for a night out with the girls. I also contoured my face here. I don’t usually contour my face because sometimes I just think it’s too much, for my taste, but I do think its good for a special night out from time to time, The lighting was pretty poor but I tried to get some better pictures 😦

I Love bright lip colors and I love this shade of lip tar even more! it’s so bright and bold, it’s so my style. The color is a bright pink color. The texture is really smooth and blends beautifully. I really liked this for the summer and even though summer is just about over it’s still a lovely color to wear year round. I will surely wear this in October, January and March if i want to.
The color is long wearing mostly because it is so bright that it stains the lips as it starts to fade. So you are left with a nice lip stain if the color fades. I prefer to use lip tars with a lip pencil if I want to wear this all day because I notice that the brighter and darker shades tend to bleed. So a lip pencil, or putting a primer on the lips or concealer around the corners of your lips will stop the color from bleeding.
I really like Lip Tars, especially if you’re a makeup artist because they are compact and doesn’t take up much space, they can be mixed and customized to create your own color and they will last forever because you really only need a tiny amount. For best application, apply with a stiff lip brush. That’s my only gripe with lip tars, you need a brush. I’m an on the go type a girl and I just don’t keep a lip brush in my purse. But overall I am a fan of Lip Tars. They offer a wide variety of shades and they are of good quality.
**What do you think of OCC Anime? Do you own this shade?
So a couple of weeks ago I went to the Makeup Forever Launch for their new flash colors seen here. I don’t own the original flash color palette but it has been on my wish list for some time now for my kit.
At the event I got to play with the flash colors palettes and the new individual shades and I really liked the texture of the products. These cream colors may be used anywhere on the body from eyeshadow and lip color to body painting. So I was really intrigued in trying these products. Seeing the artists using these in demos also inspired me. They created some really beautiful, funky works of art. You may see photos on my Facebook page and instagram to the left. Please subscribe 🙂
I really do like the texture of these for they are smooth and blend really well. I used these shades on the eyes, on the cheeks, on the lips and I used the dark brown, 39, as a very natural face contour. These babies are so versatile and they really are beneficial for every makeup artist. You could really just use these for all your models during a shoot or show because you may mix and match shades to customize colors and use everywhere, head to toe. I love how they look and these would be great for fashion makeup or editorial makeup looks. The look gives a nice glossy, wet look to the face, or where ever you use them. Of course they can be set with any kind of powder product. My advice when using these on the eyes is to use an eyeshadow primer first because they could slip and move and they are really creamy. These aren’t meant to wear all day but the primer will help the wear time last longer. I personally like the glossy look especially when using for a shoot. But as always you may build up the color and textures.
When used on the lips they were just as creamy and they were not drying at all. It really felt like a lipstick. It felt nice, not drying but not hyrdrating either. As noted, it’s not meant to be worn all day. However on the lips I do believe they last really long. I didn’t get any bleeding or fading in the 4 hours I wore it. And again you may mix shades to customize.
***What do you think of the flash Colors? Would you use them and How?
Here are a few shades I have added to my kit:
39 dark brown- I love this shade as a contour for the face
19 bronze- Looks lovely on the eyes. Great as a base over a primer for longer lasting wear.
01 wine/ dark red- I love this shade as a blush color and a lip color
38 teal- Beautiful teal shade that looks so great with the yellow flash color. If you’re into teal lips, go for it!
25 bright pink- This looks lovely as a blush and lip color
13 yellow- this is such a vibrant yellow and would look great in editorial looks
12 orange- Orange is orange! Great for any use; eyes, lips, cheeks. This is a nice vibrant orange.
This is my first Lip gloss From Illamasqua and I just want to rave about how much I LOVE this lipgloss. I’m not really a gloss fan because I love a strong lip and glosses are…glosses. And I don’t particularly like sticky gloss. I am getting better and dealing with my pickiness and wearing a lot mire gloss these days. But I digress.
I love this gloss because like the name states, it is intense. Super intense! It can be sheer or built up to be fully opaque. And it applies evenly. The texture and the feel of the gloss is really nice and not thick or sticky. The scent is really nice too! I think it smells like fruit? Something sweet. All I know is that I want to eat it. And I love that it has the brush applicator. I prefer the brush over the doe foot applicators.
Temper Is described as a tangerine orange but It looks more like a gorgeous shade of red orange. It reminds me a bit of Wonder by Nars but this is 10 times more vibrant and in your face. The more I apply the redder it looks. When I first applied it, it looked more red than orange. But as the day went on, it turned more orange. It held up about 5 hours, through drinking water, before I noticed fading. Even then the color was the still nice, like an orange stain. And I find this gloss to be really moisturizing to my lips. When I take this off my lips feel nice and soft!
I am definitely hooked on these lipglosses. I already have my list of the ones I want!
