Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara

Tarte, in my opinion, is one of those brands that we just don’t hear too much about. Obviously people are buying their products but I just don’t see them everywhere like Mac, Nars or Makeup Forever(maybe that’s a good thing so they won’t keep going up on their prices). Maybe it’s more popular overseas? I’m not sure but I really like the brand for they have really great products that are high in pigmentation, stylish and bold and their products(at least for the face) is more natural so they lack parabens and other synthetic ingredients. And they are earth friendly!

Company Description: A lengthening, curling, volumizing, and conditioning mascara infused with olive esters to condition, treat, and protect lashes. Our lights, camera, lashes™ 4-in-1 mascara could be considered a push-up bra for your lashes—a 4-in-1 (lengthening, curling, volumizing, and conditioning) plus it’s dermatologist- and clinically-proven to increase the appearance of lash volume.

Lights Camera Lashes is my favorite mascara right now. It’s arguably the best mascara I’ve tried this far, and I’ve tried my fair share. The mascara adds nice length to my natural lashes and they do plump them up a bit. I can’t speak of it’s curling power because my lashes curl naturally. But the mascara does help those annoying little short, stray hairs. The wand is smooth This mascara doesn’t flake or smudge so I don’t get raccoon eyes or bits of dried mascara in my eyes mid day. It’s not clumpy either so it applies really nicely. With this mascara I get nice, full lashes. I don’t to need to comb my lashes either.

One thing I’m not a fan of is this packaging because I don’t like this sleeve thing it comes in. It’s not cute to me at all and it makes it look kind of bulky. I thought the sleeve, or casing, was removable but I had no success.

Pro Brush Soap in Lemon and Cantaloupe

I purchased these little gems at the Makeup Show thanks to a friend who tried it and loves it. The price was right at 6 bucks plus we got a deal at that show when buying more than 2.

Cantaloupe…YUM!! I wanna eat it!

First off, these soaps smell so GOOD! There are different scents but I got Cantaloupe and Lemon. No kidding, when I got home and opened my bag, my bag smelled of cantaloupe! Yummy!  The Lemon scent is more faint and Cantaloupe is pretty strong but I like it so I don’t mind. The associate working said that the soap should last on average about 3 months. But of course it all depends on how often you use it. It probably won’t last that long if you use this daily; Probably about 2 months. I would only deep clean my brushes once a week and/or before I do a job. Other than that I use a Paritan Spirit brush cleaner or my Mac Cleaner for a quick clean.

The back, scrubbing loofa…As you can see I’ve been scrubbing!

There is the soap on one side and like a scrubbing loofah on the other side which I love because my hands get so raw sometimes when I swipe the brushes on my hands to clean them. I used to use a towel but I don’t like doing laundry 😉

My brushes don’t smell like the soap at all after I rinse them. And the soap lathers really well to give you a good cleanse. One thing I used to get when I would clean my brushes with baby shampoo, I would get suds in my brush. And I would get clean water all in the brushes and I would swish them in a bowl of clean water and the suds were still there. I didn’t get that with this soap. So I am very pleased with this buy. There are also oils in the soap that is supposed to help condition and not dry out your brushes. I wish I had bought more! Next time for sure! Good buy!

How do you clean your makeup brushes?

Nars Satin Lip Pencil

Hello Beautiful people. I’ve been MIA for, crap almost 2 months? I just got busy with life stuff, school stuff and then I get hit with the flu…Just a lot going on over here! I have missed being online, reading and posting now I’m back! I missed everyone so much!

I went to the Makeup Show here in LA on Saturday and It was so much fun and informative! I Got some new stuff for my kit, got some goodies for my personal stash, got some good info on how to get more work. It was a good day to be with so many people with the same purpose and good energy. The makeup show is always so fun and such a positive experience.

I was SUPER excited to see that Nars was at the show this year! This was their first year here. AND I was excited to learn they now have a store in LA now! YAY! I have such a love hate relationship with Nars because I really do love most of their products but they are so expensive! You get what you pay for though. I’m rarely disappointed with their products!

Nars Satin Lip Pencils in Majella and Luxembourg

Nars have these new Satin Lip Pencils coming out later this week, that I was able to test and grab some at the makeup show before they were released and I absolutely LOVE these! I love bright lip shades, especially reds, because my go to look is usually something soft and neutral on the eyes, so these shades caught my eyes. This product has the ease and control of a lip pencil with the feel of a lipstick. It’s basically a lipstick pencil. It’s so amazing. The colors are vibrant, the texture is super soft and the product glides on effortlessly. When applying, the pencil didn’t tug at my lips and I ran the pencil over my lips twice on top and twice on the bottom(back and forth) to get full coverage.

When I applied the color, it went on really smooth and felt and looked like a gloss but after about 20 minutes or so the color turned to a satin finish. It actually looked almost matte. The product isn’t drying at all and it didn’t emphasize lines on the lips. The product also felt a bit moisturizing to my lips.

The shade Luxembourg, a beautiful pinky red that wore for at least 5 hours. The color was still strong after hours of drinking from my water bottle and there was a strong tint/stain of color after eating. Luxembourg is so gorgeous, words and pictures doesn’t do it justice. I got so many compliments wearing this. And It’s just so vibrant and in your face. PERFECT for Spring and Summer. This shade actually reminded me of one the Mac Marilyn lipsticks, the Pinkish red shade- I think It was Charmed, I’m Sure? Maybe Love Goddess? Anyhow I don’t own the MAC lipstick because it sold out in like 10 minutes(I’m still a little sore about that) but from what I tested in the store and from memory I’d say the two are similar.

Nars Satin Lip Pencil Majella

The Shade Majella is a darker red, like a wine color. This shade also left a nice stain after the real color faded away. I applied this on a friend and she loved it! This is a nice going out red. It’s a very bold color, vibrant but not too dark. It’s not a dark red. Those who feel they can’t wear red lipstick or are not too confident to try one, I always recommend trying a wine color because they aren’t too bright. This would be a nice beginning red for someone who wants to try a red lip color.

There are other shades from the Satin Lip Pencil range and these are a nice edition to the Velvet Matte and Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils(I have not tried those yet so I can’t compare them). I am so excited to try the other Satin Pencils and I will definitely be trying more. I Highly Recommend these if you love colorful lips.

What’s your favorite Lip color and brand? Have you tried any of the Nars lip Pencils?
