3 Ways To Wear Mac Feeling Fresh Eyeshadow

It’s been gorgeous, weather wise, here in LA and I’ve been feeling summer-y and been “feeling fresh” so to speak. Lol, a little corny buy I laughed 🙂
So here are a few looks using Mac’s Feeling Fresh Eyeshadow. I like this color a lot. It’s a great summer color and as you can see with only two weeks left of school I kinda stopped caring about how bright my makeup has been. Take a looksy. Hope you like them.

Look 1: pretty simple, not too bold, still wearable for a day, going to the beach or pool, look.

Different ways to wear Mac Jaunty Eyeshadow

I am loving and having so  much fun with Jaunty eyeshadow. Since I work with kids, specifically special needs kids, I often don’t like to wear crazy, colorful eyeshadow because it seems to distract them(sometimes I just don’t care and I go all out) so I love Jaunty for its subtly but I also like that I can make the shade more bold, colorful or fun by adding a colored liner or a colored eyeshadow to the crease and/or outer lids.

Here are a couple looks I created using Jaunty as the primary shade. I feel I’m not done experimenting with this shade yet!

Look #1: I kind of rushed through this look because I was running late, so it’s not to MY standards but it gets the point across 🙂

Look #3
Was the same as in look #2 but I wiped away the green on my lower lash line and built the colors up for an evening look so I could go out later. I just added:
UD Darkhorse e/s to the crease and lower lash lines
Mac Engraved Powerpoint eyeliner to the water line
Added an extra wing to the lower lash line
White e/s separating and defining the two wings.

Product: Jaunty is a very smooth, neutral beige with a bit of yellow to it. I reiterate, it is very smooth! It is a frost finish so it’s pretty frosty but it’s not glittery. It gives a nice sheen which I love in my eyeshadows. I’m not a big fan of eyeshadows with lots of glitter in them for they have a tendency to fall from the lid. This is a neutral and simple shade but it is very versatile and can be worn many different ways. It can be worn everyday with a bit of a soft or mid toned brown in the crease to contour the eye and blend out the edges or it can be amped up with a dark brown, bronze or black for a nice smokey eye. Don’t forget the liner and mascara! I am in love with this eyeshadow color for I think it’s a great all around shade and it brightens the eyes a bit. I am very happy with the smoothness, pigmentation and it’s blendability. This blends like a dream! I am in love with this color even though it is simple. Sometimes simple is best!

Packaging: I like the Hey Sailor special packaging. I think it’s cute and it stands out from Mac’s usual eyeshadow packaging.

Price: $16 for Hey Sailor eyeshadows. I Love this shade so I think it’s worth every penny.

Model of the Day- Prom Makeup

My cousin’s prom was on Friday and of course I was honored to do her makeup for her big night. I did a couple practice runs and didn’t use any of them! It just goes to show that no matter how much you think and plan ahead, things don’t always go as planned; most the time it goes better.  Perfect example of just going with the flow.
Anyhow here’s my beautiful cousin, all grown up.

Mac Sail La Vie Lipstick

Product: Described as a bright midtone orange, I like that this is bright but not neon bright like Morange or Neon Orange from Mac. I think this shade is very wearable but not for the faint of heart. It has some red, or some coral to it that makes it not too orange. The lipstick has a satin finish and is really creamy and smooth. It’s not drying at all and it lays nicely on the lips. It does bleed a bit so a lipliner is needed to keep it in place. This lipstick would be perfect for a special night out or even for a nice day at the beach. This is very summer and I love it! I think this one will sell out quickly when it is released.

I compared this to Lady Danger from Mac and they are a bit different. Lady Danger is definitely more red while Sail La Vie is more Orange based with a bit of coral. Also Lady Danger is matte, a bit drier and it bled easier. I wore this all day, especially when worn with a lipliner. When it started to fade after about 6 hours (I did drink water with this one) I was left with a nice reddish orange tint on my lips that looks just as good as the lipstick. I would say this is a must have.

Packaging: The packaging for the Hey Sailor Lipsticks are the best looking out the bunch. It’s the usual Mac Lipstick tube but it’s really smooth and shiny. It’s very appealing and attractive to the eye I think and the nautical design adds a little extra flavor.

Price: $15.50 for Hey Sailor lipsticks. I think this is the best color of the lipsticks from the launch so I think this one is worth the price.

Mac Riviera Life Lipglass

Mac Hey Sailor Riviera Life Lipglass

Product: Described as a bright tangerine color, with some gold shimmer to it, I was (pleasantly) surprised by this gloss. It’s much more pigmented and bright than I expected it to be. It really is a GORGEOUS color, perfect for summer. It’s perfect on it’s own to brighten up any look for it adds a bit of warmth and brightness to the face. It also looks great when layered on top of a warm toned lipstick or lipliner such as a red, brown, bronze or nude. This is a gorgeous color for warm, medium to darker skin tones. I also think this would look nice on fair skin tones, it would warm up the skin nicely especially when adding a bit of bronzer or a complimentary blush. I thought this would look like Nars Wonder Lipgloss but this one is a lot more pigmented and brighter with more apparent shimmer. Wonder is more subtle, just adding a nice tint of orange color that adds to your natural lip color. Riviera Life packs a nice punch of color. The formula is no different from other Mac glosses, it’s thick, sticky and shimmery with a vanilla scent. I actually wore this color a little longer than usual Mac glosses, probably because it is brighter. I wore this for about 5 or 6 hours before it started feeling dry and goopy on my lips. I absolutely love this color!

Packaging: I like the packaging for this collection. It’s very “nautical” and they stand out from the usual packaging which is always nice.

Price: $15.50 for the Hey Sailor glosses because of the special packaging. I think this is so worth the price.

Mac Feeling Fresh Eyeshadow

Product: Feeling Fresh is described as a bright green. It is a bright grassy green with green and silver shimmer. It is a frost finish so it’s really shimmery. There’s more glitter here than shimmer or sheen so I did have some fall out issues when applied and throughout the day. Feeling Fresh is a lot easier to work with than Nautical Navy, probably because it’s a frost finish. This shade looks more like summer to me. It is bright, fun and goes with other colors such as bronze, brown, gold and yellow. Feeling Fresh gave a smooth and even finish when applied to the lid and it’s smooth enough to use as a liner on the lower lash line. Its a fun shade to own. I thought this was similar to Kush (Urban Decay loves Nyc)or Absinthe (Urban Decay book of shadows 1) but Feeling Fresh is brighter and less frostier. You can apply this shadow on top of a colored base like a green, a teal or even a turquoise make this more brighter, pigmented and fun summer time look. My only issue with this one is the glitter fallout. I’m not really a fan of glitter because it always seems to get in my eyes no matter the precautions I take! Throughout the day more glitter seemed to drop in my eyes but otherwise I like this shade.

Packaging: I like the Hey Sailor Packaging! Cute, simple and sets them apart from the other black pots.

Price: $16 for Hey Sailor Eyeshadows. I think this particular shade is more worth the price.
