Sephora has collaborated with Pantone to create a collection of gorgeous and vibrant hues to celebrate Spring. Pantone is where you can go to follow color trends and what color is in for the season. This season, it’s orange. Wasn’t orange the trend last year too? Anyhow, Sephora + Pantone Universe has a line of blushers, lipsticks, glosses, brushes, nail polish and much more to celebrate the Orange spring and summer trend.
Product: This lipstick is a beautiful tangerine color (hence the name). The color isn’t a bright, in your face orange lip stick that you might see with other brands. This is pretty subtle but can be built up or layered to be more bold. I actually like that this is not full coverage, bold lip color because I’ve never really liked how orange lipsticks look on me. This color is for those who aren’t too sure about wearing orange lips because it is subtle and on the sheer side while giving really good color. The formula is really soft and creamy and it does moisturize the lips a bit. It’s super smooth on the lips and it doesn’t get sticky or cakey. This reminds me of a full coverage gloss or a Lusture lipstick from Mac. I really liked this color for it’s perfect for spring and goes right into summer. This lipstick wore on me for about 6 hours with no eating and minimal drinking before it was completely gone. I’m not sure how this compares with other Sephora brand lipsticks because this is the only Sephora lipstick I own or tried.
Packaging: The lipstick comes in this huge box so I was wondering how big or bulky this lip stick would be or even if something else came with the lipstick…nope, it’s just lipstick. I like the lipstick packaging because it’s a nice change from seeing the black lipstick tubes from other brands. So this packaging stands out from the rest and I like that it stands up right in my lipstick holder or any other flat surface. It does feel a bit heavy to me though because when it closes it’s magnetized but this is compact, stores well and travels really well. It’s different and I like that!
Price: $18 for 3g of product is an OK price. It’s a few dollars more expensive than Mac but a lot cheaper than Nars, Illamasqua and other high end brands. I think this is a really good lipstick formula because it feels really good on the lips and it does have some moisturizing effects. This lipstick is higher than the other Sephora Brand lipsticks probably because it’s a special product and it’s partnered with Pantone.
